About me:

My name is Donna McMillen. I am an inclusive Celebrant who believes that every person, no matter their age, sex, race, sexual orientation, abilities or financial status deserves the right to get married and have the ceremony of their dreams.

For the past 20 years I have been working in my local community  with young people and their familes, like my beliefs for ceremonies, I believe that all young people deserve the right to the same opportunities as their peers from different areas. It is important that all young people, and their families have a safe place to feel connected and respected. People would say that I have a passion for equality in all aspects of life and love to celebrate diversity. Although I will always have a grá for working with young people, I found myself being more and more drawn to my passion, and that is creating ceremonies  for couples and families that represent them.

I was never the young girl dreaming of the big white princess wedding, as I always associated that with a church. It put me off ever getting married, as I believed that you should be able to get married whatever way you wanted, wherever you wanted. Then a couple of years ago I realised that this was an option. I could not believe it, not only did I want to get married wherever I wanted but I wanted to be able to provide couples with the same option... and so my journey to become a Celebrant began.

During lockdown I received my Certificate in Family Celebrancy, and then had the priviledge of training with Entheos Ireland. I am now a proud Celebrant with them and hold ceremonies under the Rites and Ceremonies of Entheos.

Grá go deo,
Donna x
